Who we are

ProteinPrice is an independent Australian website that compares protein prices across stores. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit the site.

What we collect

• Standard visit logs. When your browser loads a page, our hosting provider records the request. That includes your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your user agent, and the referring page. These logs are kept for a short period and used to keep the site running and spot abuse.
• Your email, only if you give it to us. If you sign up for the newsletter or send a contact form, we store the email address you provided so we can write back.
• Aggregated, non-identifying analytics. Page views, popular products, broken links. Nothing that identifies you.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, no passwords, no profile data.
• No location tracking beyond the country your IP suggests.
• No third-party advertising trackers or pixels.
• No cross-site behavioural profiles.

Cookies

We only use essential cookies needed to make the site work, like remembering which products you have added to your compare list. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies that follow you around the web.

Third parties we rely on

• Cloudflare for content delivery and bot protection. Their logs may briefly include your IP.
• Supabase for our database, including newsletter signups. Hosted on AWS.
• Affiliate networks when you click a buy link. The network may set its own cookie to attribute a sale back to us. We never see your payment details.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 you can:

• Ask what information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Withdraw your newsletter subscription at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you think we have mishandled your data.

Children

ProteinPrice is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated version.
